Waikanae First team defender Taylor Newman has been nominated for Capital Football’s prestigious “Cap 1 – Cap11 Player of the Year”. The award is given to the most outstanding player across the Capital leagues and is fitting recognition, not only for Taylor’s performances, but for an outstanding season the First team has had under coach Adam Price and his assistant Ryan McGlinchey.
The award will be presented at the Capital Football Awards dinner to be held on 26 September at the Petone Working Mens Club. The Waikanae football community wish Taylor all the best for the award.
Taylor joins junior coach Brad Milne, who earlier in the season was a regional federation finalist in the NZ Football “Junior Football Coach of the Year” competition. The Club is extremely proud of these nominations on behalf of our football community.
